Elderly Transportation is provided in Lamar County Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. This service is available to persons age 60 and over. Many of our elderly can no longer drive due to health, physical limitations, and income. This service allows the elderly to continue to live independently. Qualified drivers transport approximately 100 individuals each day from one location to another and assist participants to/from a vehicle. Locations include: grocery store, medical appointments, pharmacy, bank, beauty shop, etc. Contact the Lamar County Human Resources Council for more information. |
